Homework Week 8

I’ve noticed that I tend to forget certain things more easily than others— Stuff which I couldn’t connect to a process, that I can’t reason about, a “standalone fact” that just is like name. I will remember someone and their story, but I would have a hard time mentioning this person when in conversation. Instead of saying “Where’s the scissor?”, I’ll probably just say “Where’s the thing that are used to cut paper?”— I seem to remember purpose, process, or context better than a fact.
This is the time for me to get my knowledge of Coolify to good use. There’s two VPS server that caught my eyes from this one particular server provider that I wouldn’t name. I specifically ask what are the difference between these two, and the person that I live chatted with only says something about performance. I pressed on further, but that’s the only difference I got, their web also doesn’t specify the difference clearly. So, I rented the cheaper one thinking the spec is more than enough (I was wrong, I will tell more about this in next week homework). Oh yeah, what is this server for?
SIPS is now part of Nikay SaaS offering. It is a project that I made around mid 2023. My first ever relatively big-budget, business-oriented, money-related coding project. The scope was to code and publish it— basically a one time payment project. However, infrastructure challanges arose— mainly due to Redis no longer being free and open source, and Fly.io’s underwhelming free-tier performance (understandable, they are free— still a great platform btw). I offered to maintain a server for them, which they agreed. This decision brought a lot of thought, stress, and anxiety. But I’m incredibly glad I went through with it.
